FEE

What are the entry fee and additional costs?

A: The application fee (HK$2,800) is waived if you have a nominator. And nominated brands are entitled to settle the final round judging fee of HK$9,800 within seven working days after being shortlisted by the judges.

*If the shortlisted brands fail to win the award, the BDA organizing committee will refund the full amount within one month of receiving the award fee.

*If your brand is finally awarded, winners are entitled to enjoy more exclusive privileges, including a featured business networking conference and a commemorative booth. The respective promotion fee is:

1. Promotion fee of Best Awards: HK$26,800
2. Promotion fee of Grand Award of the Year: HK$44,800
3. Promotion fee of Best of the Best: HK$69,800

JOINING

A: The deadline is Nov 15, 2023 (Wednesday).

A: Currently, BDA is open to limited and unlimited companies to join, and they have to submit BR / CI as proof. 

 

BDA is established with a mission to honour the success of brands, as stated in the Terms and Conditions if ownership of an application does not belong to a single entity, the applying entity is required to acquire authorization from all relevant entities and to ensure the accuracy of the information presented.  Thus if you are working with a brand as an individual, we would suggest you nominate them to join. And we are more than welcome to receive your nominations with contact points! 

A: BDA opens to entries with nomination only. We welcome people from all walks of life to nominate. You may invite your company director or other companies to nominate your brand.

  • Presentation of Brand Design Awards 2024 trophy and certificate;
  • Use of the Brand Design Awards 2024 trademark of the winning year for your brand promotion,
  • including but not limited to use in product packaging and marketing materials;
  • Announcement on the HKDA Brand Design Awards website;
  • Inclusion in various online and offline media featuring the winner list, gaining over millions of impressions and publicity;
  • One ticket to the Awards Presentation Ceremony and After-Show Cocktail Party (worth HK$1,200);
  • One booth at DesignMatch HK 2024 to showcase your brand’s excellence to industry leaders, government officials, and design professionals (worth HK$30,000 or above);
  • One ticket to join DesignMatch HK 2024 – the biggest 1-on-1 business matching event in the Hong Kong Design Industry to establish connections with company representatives and potential partners (worth HK$6,000);
  • On-stage presentation during DesignMatch 2024 for your brand promotion;
  • DesignMatch 2024 Golden Pages (worth HK$1,000);
  • Award the 2024 Corporate Membership with Silver Grade from HKDA as a commendation for the achievements of the award-winning brands in creativity and design;
  • Winners of the Best of the Best and Grand Award of the Year will be granted a speech at the Award Presentation Ceremony for brand promotion;
  • Advertorials will be granted to the winners of Grand Award of the Year (worth HK$78,000) and Best of the Best (worth HK$117,000);
  • Winners of the Best of the Best and Grand Award of the Year will be offered to chance to publish an email to HKDA members and publish post on Facebook and Instagram of the Brand Design Awards;
  • Hosting of eBanner at HKDA official website for one month for the Winner of Best of the Best;
    BDA Publication with your brand introduction for marketing purposes;

A: Sub-categories are designed specifically for the marketing use of awarded brands; they will be reviewed by the first-round judges and printed on the trophy and certificate, so you are welcome to suggest your own sub-category to categorize your brand. You could enter up to 8 Chinese characters or 40 English characters.

A: No limitation in the date back time as we welcome you to share the growth of your brand.

A: You can apply more than one category.

A: The winner’s announcement will be made in Jan 2024. The deadline is Nov 15, 2023 (Wednesday).

A: You will be required to provide information for six main parts:

Judging

What are the judging criteria?

  1. User Experience

    The brand’s performance in providing high-quality user experience, including usability, design, functionality, service quality, interaction with users, and feedback.

  2. Brand Image

    The brand’s performance in shaping brand image, including visual identity, brand language, brand values and culture, social image, and social responsibility.

  3. Market Value

    The brand’s performance and value in the market, including brand awareness, market share, revenue, and growth.

  4. Tech & Innovation

    The brand’s performance in product or service innovation and technology, including innovation and R&D of products or services, technology application and development, and leadership in the industry.

  5. Sustainability

    The brand’s performance in environmental protection, including the environmental performance of products or services, environmental measures and emission reduction measures during production, environmental responsibility and commitments of the company.

What is the judging procedure?

A: There are two independent rounds of judging. Five first-round judges will carry out preliminary screening based on the criteria. Qualified entries will proceed to the next round.
